There were various rumors about Apple releasing an Ultra model for the iPhone. However, Apple chose the same series line-up of iPhones as the previous year: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Release Date

The pre-bookings of iPhone 15 have started from September 15, 2023. The newly launched iPhone 15 is now available for purchase on Apple's official website and Apple Store.

iPhone 15 Design

Compared to last year's iPhone 14 series, the new iPhone 15 series has received minimal physical changes. For many users, the curved back edge of the iPhone 15 will add a touch of comfort while holding the phone.

The Dynamic Island, which was previously available only on the Pro, is now included on all the models of the 15 series. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now have included a stunning, textured matte finish and an industry-first color-infused back glass. The iPhone 15 colors are more vibrant than ever. Apple has used pastel colors: Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink for this year's line-up.

The Pro models have received some physical changes for the 15 series this year. Apple has replaced the iconic mute switch of the iPhone with a new action button. You can customize the action button to toggle shortcuts, such as accessing your camera and activating voice memos. The dynamic island provides additional visual cues when you use the action button.

In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are made of titanium for the first time. This titanium structure is better built than stainless steel and should offer a better strength-to-weight ratio. Also, both Pro models weigh lower than last year's Pro models. The color options available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium, and Natural Titanium.

Since 2022, the U.S. variants of the iPhone have removed the sim slot and instead use two eSims simultaneously. The U.K. variants still have a physical SIM slot with an additional eSim.

iPhone 15 Features

These new 15 series models have finally replaced the lightning port with the universal type C port. The USB-C cable can serve as a single charger for multiple Apple products. Apple now also offers reverse charging, a highly anticipated feature that was missing in previous generations.

The A17 Pro system-on-chip powers the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, featuring a 3-nanometer chip with improved CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine Processing. The second-generation ultra-wideband chip supports Wi-Fi 6E for better connectivity.

The iPhone 15 series also features a new bandwidth network, allowing faster downloads and upload speeds, making it ideal for streaming, gaming, and high-data tasks. The Find My App uses an upgraded Ultra-Wide Band chip for locating nearby friends. The new battery supports Qi2 wireless charging, providing faster charging than previous models.

The iPhone 15 Pro features an improved camera system, anti-glare lens coating, improved night mode, action mode, and Live Photos. The primary camera sensor is now upgraded to 48 megapixels, an upgrade from the 12 megapixels found on the previous iPhone 14.

Most importantly, Apple aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its products and supply chain by 2030 and has pledged not to use leather in its products or accessories.
